2014/09-2016/06 AIDS Quilt Touch: A Distributed Digital Archive Platform for Digital Storytelling, Citizen Archiving, and Preservation of Cultural Heritage - M MacDowell, D Rehberger, CC Luz

Abstract: The project will result in the creation of an integrated media system that inspires, supports, and teaches practices of citizen archiving through the design of engaging interactive experiences that enable users to access, visualize, and contribute stories to a digital archive rich-media data about the AIDS Memorial Quilt. The media system integrates diverse elements: network infrastructures, applications, databases, human participants, communities, and protocols for data management, acquisition, and public engagement.
