Laurie Fitzpatrick is a Research Assistant in the Department of Family Medicine at Michigan State University (MSU) and was hired in 2007. Before coming to MSU, Laurie worked for 16 years as a health educator in local public health focusing on prevention, chronic disease management and promoting healthy lifestyles. Her extensive research experience includes project coordination and management, conducting data collection activities (IE: interviews, observation, surveys, etc.) within community and primary care practice settings. Laurie is highly skilled in analyzing qualitative data using a variety of methods including atlas.ti. as well as data reporting. Her interests include wellness and chronic disease management. For the past several years, she has been involved in several studies focused on implementing care management effectively in practice as well as assisting patients with self-management support to achieve health goals.
