Sparrow is an exciting, innovative office-based residency program. We provide residents with a setting in which to learn family medicine by actually practicing it. During the first year, there is a "rotating internship" at Sparrow Hospital. Exciting second and third years feature primarily office-based training with on-call care of hospitalized family medicine patients. Call is taken from home in years two and three; call averages only once every sixth to eighth night.

Sparrow/MSU Family Medicine Residency ProgramThere are three office settings — two in Lansing, one in Mason (urban, suburban, rural). Residents have their own panel of patients for whom they are the primary physician for the duration of training.

The program is well established and proven, with 133 board certified graduates. It has seven full-time board certified program faculty, as well as community faculty.
