Stuart Johnson, DO

In April 2011, Stuart K. Johnson, DO, was named program director of the Marquette Family Medicine Residency Program. His position prior to the promotion was director of Osteopathic Medical Education and assistant program director.
Dr. Johnson has a special interest in promoting the principles of osteopathic medicine. His belief in these principles has instilled a desire to promote osteopathic medical education in the residency and throughout the community.

Jean Thomas, MD

Dr. Thomas joined the faculty in 1994. His curricular areas are dermatology and substance abuse.

He attended the University of Michigan Medical School and served his residency at the Grand Rapids Family Practice Residency.

Barbara Stanford, MD

Dr. Stanford joined the faculty in 2002. Her curricular Areas are obstetrics, women's care, health disparities, and health literacy.

She attended Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine and served her residency at the Grand Rapids Family Practice Residency.

Maya Ayashi, MD

Dr. Ayashi joined the faculty in 2007. Her curricular areas include the women's health curriculum.

She attended medical school at Apeppo University, Syria, and served her residency at York Hospital, Pennsylvania.

Michael Bishop, MD

Dr. Bishop joined the faculty in 2006. He is curricular coordinator for practice management, surgery, and emergency room medicine.

He attended medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine, and completed his residency at Ball Memorial Family Medicine, Muncie, Indiana.

Mischa Pollard, MD

Dr. Pollard has been a full time faculty member at McLaren Flint since January 1997, after completing a three-year family medicine residency at Genesys Medical Center in Flint, Michigan, in December 1996. She am a 1993 graduate of Michigan State University – CHM. Her interests include women’s health, obstetrics, preventive medicine, and geriatrics.

Scott Plensdorf, MD

Dr. Plensdorf has been a full time faculty member at McLaren Flint since August 1999, following a four-year tour with the United States Air Force. He is a 1992 graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids in 1995.

His interests include diagnostic and therapeutic asthma/allergy management, sports medicine, obstetrics, dermatology and procedural training.

Robin H. DeMuth, MD

Robin H. DeMuth, MD, has primary responsibilities in teaching clinical skills at the medical student level. She also has clinical responsibilities and participates in scholarly activities and special assignments. She earned her BA at Rice University in Texas and received her MD from the MSU College of Human Medicine in 2004. She is a 2007 graduate of the Sparrow/MSU Family Medicine Residency Program in Lansing, where she followed the obstetrics track with an academic focus.
