Assistant/Associate Professors, Tenure-track

Population Health & Health Systems Research

Department of Family Medicine, College of Human Medicine, Michigan State University

The Department of Family Medicine in the College of Human Medicine, Michigan State University (MSU) announces the search for two tenure-track positions to strengthen our population health and health systems research capacity.

The successful applicants’ interests in either population health and/or health services research will complement the Department of Family Medicine’s focus on High Reliability Healthcare. While all areas of specialization related to population health and health services will be considered, of particular interest are provider/workforce well-being, transitions of care, patient/stakeholder involvement, integration of new technologies into care processes, health economics, and population health interventions. The successful candidates should have a demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications and extramural funding or a significant potential for funding. A track record of interdisciplinary and community-engaged research is highly desirable.

Applicants must have a doctoral and/or an MD/DO degree with substantial experience in population health or health systems research. The primary location for these positions is either Grand Rapids or East Lansing, MI. The department is community based and offers the ability to collaborate with bench-science, clinical, and population health colleagues, with research opportunities across the state in rural, suburban, and urban settings. The Department works closely with large healthcare systems, is closely connected with a statewide network of primary care practices, and is expanding its international research.

Candidates should submit an application letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research interests, and research funding to jobs.msu.edu, posting numbers 5256 and 5257. Please address inquiries to Dr. Judy Arnetz, Search Committee Chair, at judy.arnetz@hc.msu.edu.
