Today we celebrate National Women in Medicine Day. Today marks the birthday of the first woman to receive her medical degree in the US, Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell.
Dr. Raza Haque had this to say about the day.
“My spouse, my sister, my daughter and my mother in law are physicians. They have been pivotal in my personal growth as a human being, and they continue to shape my views on health equity and rights of women in society. I would like share the quote of the first American Woman physician, Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell here. “If society will not admit of woman’s free development, then society must be remodeled.”
