Hend Azhary, MD, was the recipient of the 2018 Syrian American Medical Association‘s Hero of the Year Award. Dr. Azhary has taken several medical mission trips to Syrian refugee camps in Jordan; with her first trip in 2011. The war in Syria has created a humanitarian crisis and Dr. Azhary and her fellow volunteers are doing what they can to help. Congratulations, Dr. Azhary.
