Dr. Natoshia Cunningham recently returned from the European Paediatric Psychology Network conference, which occurred from October 9th-11th in Malaga, Spain, and was chaired by Dr. Rocio de la Vega.  The theme was “Fortifying Futures: Innovative Approaches from Paediatric Psychology Around the World.”

Cunningham took part in multiple conference activities including a workshop featuring collaborators from around the world (from left to right) Drs. Brittany Barber Garcia (Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital/Corewell),  Emma Ramsay Milford (University of Gothenburg, Sweden), Natoshia Cunningham (Michigan State University), Asa Nilses (Center for Progress in Children's Mental Health, Gothenburg, Sweden) and Rocio de le Vega (University of Malaga, Spain) on culturally adapting psychological care for youth with chronic pain.

She also presented a poster on a systemic literature review completed with Dr. de la Vega and her research team who are based at the University of Malaga, Elena Serrano, and Adrian Fernandez Gonzalez.  Together, they will complete pilot testing of the culturally adapted program this spring during Cunningham’s sabbatical to Spain.
