We welcome Joan Ilardo, PhD, as the Senior Associate Chair of the Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Ilardo has been engaged with the department since she came to the College in 2009, when she began collaborating with the Geriatrics Division.
Dr. Ilardo is a macro-practice Social Worker who sees our work in a different context than most of us do as physicians and researchers. At the same time, she shares our strong commitment to the discipline of Family Medicine and understands our goals and vision to develop an even stronger Department. Dr. Ilardo has extensive experience in writing successful grant proposals, teaching, mentoring faculty and students, participating in committees, and collaborating with community partners.
We are impressed by Dr Ilardo’s commitment, energy, skills, and wisdom, and we are excited to welcome her as a partner in our work!
