Mental health disorders are more common in children with pediatric rheumatologic diseases compared to healthy peers. Mental health disorders impact disease-related outcomes and health-related quality of life, so addressing mental health symptoms can improve clinical and psychosocial outcomes. Mental health screening tools are available and should be implemented so that mental health disorders can be recognized and addressed.
