Alireza Boloori, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor (fixed term) with joint appointment in Department of Statistics and Probability, College of Natural Resources, and Department of Family Medicine, College of Human Medicine.
He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University. His research interests are in healthcare analytics, healthcare policy and operations, healthcare delivery systems, and data-driven decision-making in healthcare. From methodological standpoints, his research interests are in stochastic operations research, robust optimization, machine learning and big data analytics, and agency and game theory.
Dr. Boloori has had research collaborations with Mayo Clinic Arizona (various divisions including Nephrology and Transplantation, Endocrinology, Emergency Medicine, and Cancer Center), and his research has gained accolades from Production and Operations Management Society, INFORMS IBM Service Science, and INFORMS Decision Analysis Society. His current work focuses on developing evidence-based analytical frameworks to address the pain vs. side-effects trade-off in the opioid prescription and abuse epidemic.
