Biography

Cassandra Chouinard, DO, is a physician at MSU Health Care Family Medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Athabasca University in Athabasca, Canada, and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, TX. She also holds degrees in music, including a Bachelor of Music from Mount Allison University and a Master of Music from McGill University. 

Chouinard completed her family medicine residency at University of Michigan Health Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI. With diverse clinical experience spanning roles such as resident physician, anesthesia technician, and surgical associate, she is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. 

In addition to her clinical practice, Chouinard is an assistant professor of Family Medicine at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, a role she began in October 2024. She has contributed to numerous presentations and publications on topics such as patient safety, anxiety and OMT, ADHD and the gut-brain connection, and osteopathic treatments for athletes, showcasing her commitment to medical education and advancing the field of family medicine.
