Mariela is a graduate research assistant in the HELP lab. Currently, she is the interventionist for the ADAPT study, providing tailored CBT intervention to adolescents with functional abdominal pain. Additionally, she is measuring treatment integrity of a remotely delivered CBT intervention for children with Lupus.
Outside of the lab, Mariela is pursuing a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) as a third-year graduate student at Wright State University’s School of Professional Psychology. Her goal is to become a pediatric psychologist and work with children with chronic medical conditions, with a specific interest in chronic pain. She also wishes to help reconcile pediatric health disparities by working with underserved and marginalized populations.
