Dr. Larry Kage is in every way the quintessential Michigan family medicine physician. Born and raised in Michigan, Dr. Kage earned his medical degree at the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his postgraduate training at the Flint Osteopathic Hospital. He then embarked on what would be become a wonderfully rewarding 27-year journey as a private practice, independent family physician. During this “Act One” of his career, Dr. Kage practiced full-spectrum family medicine, including inpatient care and 24/7 solo call, and he earned the love and deep appreciation of his patients spanning multiple generations. Beyond his clinical contributions, Dr. Kage established himself as a scholar and community servant. He served as part-time teaching faculty for the residency program for 20 years, before joining the residency program full time, and also was principal investigator for 12 office-based clinical studies. In addition, he served as medical director for the regional juvenile detention center throughout his career and still does so today.

Dr. Kage currently leads the curriculum on osteopathic techniqu,e with both advanced training for osteopathic residents as well as beginner to intermediate training for allopathic residents.
