Biography

Elizabeth (Liz) Guerrero Lyons, Ed.D is the Associate Director of the Leadership in Rural Medicine and Assistant Professor at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Dr. Lyons is the course director for the CHM intersession, "The Impact of my Story: Discovering how your Journey Impacts your Practice", and co-leads the elective, "Racism and Disparities in Healthcare". Her scholarship centers on narrative medicine, multicultural education, mentorship of racially minoritized students, and pre-college and pathway programming for pre-health students.

She currently serves as the faculty advisor for the Latin American and Native American Medical Association (LANAMA) and the Rural Health Interest Group (RHIG). She attended Michigan State University, receiving an MA in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education Administration and an Ed.D. in K-12 Administration.
