Mission:
To enhance primary care research capacity, interest, and productivity by:
- Supporting the research needs of primary care practices
- Encouraging community-initiated and community-focused research which addresses gaps in clinical care
- Fostering a culture of community-engaged research collaboration
Vision:
To serve as a premier practice-based research network in Michigan that integrates primary care research, education, and practice to optimize patient care, community well-being, and public health.
Goals:
While the MSU Primary Care Research Collaborative will initially focus on Family Medicine Residency Programs, the Collaborative welcomes participation from primary care practices across Michigan.
1) Promote research training and expertise among faculty in family medicine residency programs and develop a shared community of practice of research-trained Family Medicine faculty.
2) Enhance infrastructure for the conduction of practice-based research led by faculty and residents that addresses primary care research questions of interest.
3) Facilitate translation and implementation of research findings to improve clinical practice, evidence-based medicine, and patient health outcomes.
