MSU Primary Care Research Collaborative Roadmap

Prior to submission of the research proposal, the study team is encouraged to consider potential collaborations with other programs and practices for a multi-site collaborative project.

Upon submission of the research proposal, the senior leadership team will conduct a preliminary review within one week to assess the proposal’s fit with the overall goals and objectives of the Collaborative. If the proposal is deemed a good fit, the proposal will then be submitted to the Advisory Board for Step-1 Peer Review, where it will be reviewed for feasibility, fundability, and relevance to primary care. Upon conclusion of the Advisory Board review, the proposal will be submitted to the Research Committee for Step 2 Peer Review, where the science and methods of the proposal will be evaluated. Upon conclusion of the Peer Review process, a decision will be provided to the study team: Approved, Revise and Resubmit, or Not Accepted at this time. The estimated timeframe from Peer Review to Decision Notification is approximately 2-4 weeks.

If the proposal is accepted, the study team will proceed to complete the necessary IRB processes if not already completed. Upon IRB approval and completion of all necessary confidentiality and privacy protocols, the study may be launched.
